We are the rescue organization for the Scottish Terrier Club of Greater Washington DC. Our group has been rescuing dogs in need for over fifty years. We are a no kill rescue group and we house all of our rescued pets until suitable homes are found. We see to all the medical needs of our rescues and all dogs are neutered or spayed before placement. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are housed in foster homes until they are placed.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please go to http://clubs.akc.org//stca, then click on the rescue section and fill out an on-line application. Once completed, have the application forwarded, via email, to Jeanne Lishia, Rescue Coordinator for the STC Washington DC at email@example.com. Using the on-line form will ensure a prompt response to your request to adopt.
We place our rescues with families who most closely match the individual dog's needs. Adoption donations for our rescues vary depending upon the age and medical condition of the dog. Our adoption process includes speaking with veterinary or personal references and completing a home inspection for each applicant before a placement is completed.
