About Us

The Feline Rescue Association is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens from the street.

We also do Trap-Neuter-Return of feral cats and help wherever we can.

We have many cats and kittens looking for forever homes. We also need foster families for our kitties so if you are interested in taking a cat for a trial-run (foster-to-adopt) or giving a cat a temporary home for as long as you're comfortable or until s/he is adopted.

More information on fostering is available on our website.

We're a small no-kill group operating out of foster homes.

We have a permanent adoption set up located at the Petco in Owings Mills

10383 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117

Donations are very badly needed. We are usually running on empty and every donation is an enormous relief.

You can mail donations to FRA, P.O. Box 396, Stevenson, MD 21153 or donate via Paypal (f.rescue.assoc@gmail.com).

We also accept credit card donations over the phone or by mail, and of course we accept cash or check.

Please call 443-320-2231 to make a credit card donation, or use your preferred button:

Adoptions

You are welcome to come meet our cats but we must be given time to review your application.

This usually only takes a few hours but depends on your method of submission.

If you are serious about one of our cats, please complete our adoption application.

Volunteering

Adoption Center Volunteers

Transport Assistants

We need volunteers 18 years of age of older to help care for our cats at our Petco adoption center located in Owings Mills. The cages need to be kept neat and clean, the food and water replaced and the litter boxes scooped. It literally takes about ten minutes to do but would be so helpful to us. Do one day a week or more.

We need reliable people to spend a few hours once or twice a month helping us transport cats to and/or from the spay/neuter clinic. If you are responsible, over 18 and have a clean driving record, please contact us! Transport would be from Hampden to Pikesville in the mid-afternoon/early evening on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday.

Temporary Caretakers/Fosters

Rescuers/TNR Assistants

These people are called 'Foster Families' and temporarily house and care for one or more cats or kittens. All you need to provide is a safe, clean and loving environment, plenty of TLC, and make sure the cat has a clean litter box and fresh food and water.

We can lend you a litter box and provide food and litter, et cetera, as needed. For some of our shyer cats we can even provide a cage.

You would foster the cat as long as you were comfortable or until the point of adoption. It would be helpful if you would allow visitations with potential adopters in your home but we can also arrange to do them elsewhere.

You must be 18 or older. If you are not the homeowner or primary leaseholder we will need their permission.

We need people to accompany Lizzie on her rescue and Trap-Neuter-Return adventures. This person must be over 18 years old and understand the possible risks. Most of the rescuing will be in inner-city neighborhoods.

We are particularly interested in people willing to help during nighttime or early morning hours.

It would be great if you had a car, but depending on where you live we can also pick you up.

You will need to sign a general volunteer waiver.

To learn more about TNR, visit our website on ferals.

Flyer Distribution

Caretakers

Anyone can help raise money or increase adoptions for FRA! Post flyers for us in coffee shops, at pet supply stores, and in community areas. Please print these flyers or email us to request that we mail you some for distribution in your area.

It takes a lot of time and energy for us to clean all the litter boxes and cages of all the cats we have awaiting adoption. We could really use someone to come spend an hour or so once in a while to come over and help clean, change litter boxes, scoop poop, and make sure everyone's got fresh food and water. Also, the cats could use more attention from more people.

lease contact Lizzie at f.rescue.assoc@gmail.com or 443-320-2231 if you are interested in any of these positions.
