Welcome to Mid-Atlantic
Saint Bernard Rescue
We are an organization made up entirely volunteers that are devoted to rescuing, rehabilitiating, and rehoming abandoned or surrendered Saint Bernards in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia.
The Saints are given to us from their owners for a multitude of situations: divorces, a family moving away cannot take the pet, an owner is ill or passes away, owners no longer having time for their pets, or children developing allergies. Sometimes the dogs are picked up as strays, with no identification and no way to return them to their family. And, on occasion, we must rescue dogs from abusive situations. It doesn't matter where the dog comes from or why. Our mission is to help them find forever homes. They all need our help, and we need yours.
In order to get started, first look at our Petfinder listing or the Available Saints and see which Saint is calling out to you. Is it their colors? How about the cute freckles? Or maybe even their brilliant smile?
Can't decide? We are here to help you adopt the right Saint for your family. We always have several to choose from, and if we don't have the perfect Saint for you please visit the National ST. Bernard Rescue to find adoptable Saints in other states. Our goal is to find each Saint a forever home, so we work hard to make sure the dog will be a perfect match for your family. Please contact us and we'll help narrow down which dogs will be best for you.
If you're ready to adopt and live in Maryland, the District of Columbia, or Virginia, please fill out an adoption application. Once your application is received, one of our rescue coordinators will be in touch to explain the process and talk about our available Saints.
If you can't adopt right now but would like to help in other ways, please visit the How You Can Help. We have many opportunities available for volunteering with the dogs, and donations are always accepted.
We look forward to hearing from you!
