The Cecil County SPCA is committed to preventing and suppressing cruelty to animals and enforcing all laws pertaining thereto in Cecil County, Maryland and surrounding areas of said County and to promote, enact and enforce humane laws and to promote the general welfare of animals.
JURISDICTION:
The Cecil County SPCA works concurrently with the Sheriff's office, Maryland State Police, Township Police, public, private and religious agencies and professional groups providing law enforcement services for the accomplishment of the mission statement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Cecil County SPCA handles and investigates animal complaints, public nuisances and issues summonses and/or citations, and enforces all Cecil County Ani8mal Ordinances including licensing requirements, animal abandonment, and the prosecution for animal cruelty. It also considers and sets forth policy in relation to any animal emergency situation and recommends any changes in the law regarding animal control.
