*The AWLMC is a relatively new organization, so currently we're only adopting cats. As we build our organization, we will start handling dogs, and possibly other pets.

Who We Are
Our Mission Statement:
The Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County (AWLMC) seeks to enhance the lives of Montgomery County, Maryland residents and animals through educational programs, pet adoption and animal shelter programs, and low cost spay and neuter services.
Adopting a friend
All members of the adopter's household should be present at the adoption.
For all adopters who rent their home, we must see a copy of the adopter's lease or rental agreement showing that pets are allowed.
Current adoption fees: $125 for all cats & kittens. All animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We can only accept check or cash. (Although we hope to be able to accept credt cards in the future.)
Potential adopters are required to fill out an application and to be interviewed by an AWLMC addoption counselor.
We can request home visits or vet checks prior to approving anyone for adoption.
Upon approval, the adopter must sign an adoption contract.
Adopters must have proof of ID (a driver's license or other government issued identification).
We will follow up on our adoptions which can include e-mails., phone calls, home visits, and vet checks.

Adoption Events
We will have cats and kittens available for adoption. Come visit and take home a new pal!
Every Saturday, 1PM - 4PM and every Wednesday, 6PM - 8PM
