Partners for Animal Welfare and Safety Inc
Who We Are
Partners for Animal Welfare and Safety is an all volunteer, charitable, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to improve conditions for animals in Garrett County. We are not affiliated with any other local, state, or national animal welfare organization. Our mission is to:
*Prevent animal cruelty and neglect through education
*Address the problem of pet overpopulation by offering
spay/neuter assistance to low-income pet owners and those
caring for homeless cats in Garrett County
*Promote the adoption of homeless pets
Adopting a friend
Those interested in adopting a particular pet from PAWS are invited to request an adoption application. Completed applications are reviewed with the intent of matching an animal with the right home. All adoptions require a home visit before final approval. Our adoption fees vary for each pet, and may range from $25 to $150, depending on the costs we have incurred in preparing that particular pet for adoption. All animals adopted through PAWS have been spayed or neutered, are current on their shots, and have been treated for internal and external parasites. Cats have been tested for FeLeuk and FIV.
