We began in 1998 with an interest in caring for city feral cats. We trapped and spayed or neutered the cats, then placed them in their original neighborhoods if these places were safe and neighbors welcomed the cats. In some instances, it was necessary to relocate the cats, placing them on farms or other rural locations where people could look after the care and feeding of the felines.
This then led to caring for kittens born on the streets. We placed them in foster fomes, and when the kittens were old enough, had them spayed or neutered, vaccinated and placed in permanent homes.
Along the way, we found ourselves on call for almost any cat situation that came about. We located veterinarians who were sympathetic to the needs of rescue groups; and with the help of the vets, we continued our mission to end the suffering of cats and other animals who came under our care.
In 2003, we became incorporated as a non-profit organization, and continue to help homeless, sick, and injured cats anywhere we find them.
Our mission is to end the suffering of cats, be they feral, domestic, or stray.
We do this, in case of ferals, by trapping neutering/spaying, and returning the cats to their original environment when it is hospitable and cat friendly. When a cat's environment no longer sustains its life, we attempt to relocate the animals to a more friendly area.
In the case of orphan kittens and/or at risk mommies and their kittens, we place them in foster homes until they can be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and have other medical situations addressed. We then find new homes where the cat will live for rest of its life.
We educate pet owners when problems arise, and encourage them to think of their pet as a family member, and as such, the animal deserves to live without any further changes in ownership for the rest of its life.
All of the above takes every spare moment of our time. This, we do simply out of our love and compassion for the animals.
We are, however, in dire need of contributions (which are tax deductable) to help with vet costs, medications, food, litter and general operating expenses. Any amount that you may donate will go directly toward our mission.....and that is to end all suffering.
Your tax deductible contribution can be mailed to:
An application and an adoption agreement are required. Our adoption fee is $85.00 for adult cats six months and over, and $100.00 for kittens. This fee includes bathing, worming, flea control, feline aids and leukemia testing, distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine (if 16 weeks or older) and most importantly, the spay or neuter.
No one leaves our shelter until all of the above have been performed.
We take all of the time necessary to address any concerns about your new cat, and insist on follow-up calls after the adoption to ensure that you are totally delighted with your new family member.
You may feel free to contact us at any time with questions, no matter how small. If we do not know the answer, we know how and where to find it......

Because we do all of our shelter work on a volunteer basis, we have limited hours during the work week. You may, however, contact us during the week by e-mail or phone and viewing times can be scheduled on a limited basis. We are open all weekends for viewing and adoptions by appointment. Call 410-882-0192 for information on any of our cats or directions to our shelter.
