Who We Are
Little Wonders Animal Rescue was formed to assist with finding homes for smaller animals that have been rescued or given up. We work closely with other rescues and animal control agencies to provide an alternative to euthanasia. Our main objective is to save lives and provide a good home to these little wonders. We handle all our animals on a daily basis and are careful to screen them to make sure they are not agressive toward humans. Animals that we know are agressive or bite or have serious medical problems are not available for adoption and will live out their natural lives in comfort and safety at our location.
Adopting a Friend
We have a simple 4 stage process. First you complete a one page application. Second, we check your information including referances. Third, you come and see the animal and we interview you. Fouth, if approved, you pay adoption fee (if applicable) and take your new friend home. Little Wonders does not charge adoption fees for most of the animals adopted out such as the guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, rats, small birds, reptiles, cats and kittens, and many others. Little Wonders does charge a fee on dogs, ferrets and some birds if they are adopted with their cages. Donations are very much appreciated to help defray expenses. While we usually do not have cages available for sale, we are happy to provide advice on picking out a cage.
Stop Puppy Mills
Do you know about puppy mills? If you don't -- and even if you
do -- then you've got to watch this undercover video:
Puppy mills are large scale operations that force breeder dogs
to produce litter after litter to support consumer demand for
puppies. Puppies sold in pet stores or through Internet sites
come from places filled with suffering, disease, malnutrition,
and loneliness. Even the puppies themselves are often prone to a
variety of diseases. Some die within days or weeks of purchase.
The Humane Society of the United States is working to stop puppy
mills and they need your help.
Please watch this short video that exposes the cruelty of puppy
mill dog auctions. Then, you can take action by pledging to stop
supporting the retailers that perpetuate cruel breeding
practices. Click here:
Thanks for taking action!
A Stray's Prayer
Dear God Please Send Me somebody who'll care!
I'm tired of Running, I'm Sick with Despair.
My Body is Aching, It's So Racked with Pain,
And Dear God, I pray as I run in the rain
That someone will love me and give me a home,
A warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.
My last owner tied me all day in the yard
Sometimes with no water and God that was hard!
So I chewed my leash and I ran away
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now God I'm tired and hungry and cold.
And I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.
They've chased me with sticks and hit me with stones
While I run the streets just looking for bones!
I'm not really bad God, please help if you can,
For I have become just a "Victim of Man"!
I'm wormy Dear God and I'm ridden with fleas and
All that I want is an owner to please!
If you find one for me God, I'll try to be good
And I won't chew their shoes, but I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, protect them, and try to obey
When they tell me to sit, to lie down or to stay!
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
Cause I'm getting so weak and I'm so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
Cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm gonna die!
And I've got so much love and devotion to give,
That I should be given a new chance to live,
So Dear God please, Please answer my prayer and
Send me somebody who WILL really care....
