Adoption Requirements
E-mail for an adoption application at companimals@earthlink.net, or fill out our on-line application at www.CompAnimals.org. All applications are looked at objectively, as what is required for one pet may not be neccessary for another. Please fill in all answers as incomplete forms will delay the process. You will receive a confirmation of your application within 24 hrs. You can see our pets at our adoption events listed above but in order TO VISIT A PET IN A FOSTER HOME, YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION. Adoption donation levels vary as our rescues do: Seniors $50-$100, Adults Med-Large $150, Adults Small $200, Puppies (under 1 yr) $200, Purebreds $250-$300 to help cover the medical expenses of our less fortunate rescues. All of our pets will be spayed & neutered prior to adoption unless health does not permit. Dogs are vaccinated, heartworm negative and on prevention; Cats are vaccinated, FeLuek/FIV negative and flea-free. All puppies & many adult dogs are microchipped prior to adoption.

History and Mission
CompAnimals began as a senior pet rescue with the rescue of Leticia and Jezabel, two older cats whose owner died unexpectedly. Leticia & Jez were placed in a home together where they continue to be pampered. CompAnimals has gone on to rescue over 800 more unwanted pets. We have expanded to help all animals in need but specialize in the "unadoptables": cats & dogs missing hair, animals needing surgery prior to adoption, missing limbs or eyes, sick kittens or puppies that don't have a chance at the shelter, any animal that just needs a little extra TLC before finding that forever home. Of course we won't turn away a perfectly healthy dog or cat who, through no fault of his own has found himself on death row. And we still have a soft spot for that graying muzzle...

CompAnimals places these animals in a foster home situation with a real-life family where they are socialized and evaluated for the home that best fits them. Most of our charges get along with other cats, dogs & children but there is the odd case that doesn't. CompAnimals has a No-Kill policy. Every animal that walks through our doors will find a forever home or will live out their natural life with us.

How to meet one of our adorable adoptables
We now have an ADOPTION CENTER just northwest of the PA/MD/DE juncture in Landenberg, PA. Many of our adoptable cats live here. Our adoptable dogs will continue to live in foster homes, but some may be discovered visiting the adoption center during our open to the public times (Wed-Sat 12-5). Our foster homes are located in the four state (PA, MD, DE, & NJ) area. We bring some of our dogs to monthly adoption events at local pet stores, and to other animal related public events. With an approved application, some dogs may also be visited in their foster homes. If our volunteers' schedules allow, we may even be able to bring a dog to your location. To meet a specific dog, arrangements should be made several days in advance. Please e-mail, or call us for more information.
