Who We Are
HSCC strives to provide low-cost spay and neuter programs, provide humane care for stray and abandoned animals, seek appropriate homes for foster pets, and investigate reported cases of cruelty.HSCC is a no-kill shelter. What that means, is that we do not euthanize pets under our care unless they are terminally ill and suffering beyond medical help. As such, if you notice a dog or cat has been removed from our listings, you can feel assured that they did not meet with an untimely death. The flip side of this is that placements are crucial to our success. When our kennel is full of dogs, we must turn away others until spaces are made available by adoptions. Some of the dogs listed on our pages have been with us a long time and have characteristics which make them more difficult to place. Please consider helping one of these needy dogs so that we may continue to help others.
Adopting a Friend
HSCC has many wonderful dogs and cats available for adoption. In order to adopt, you must fill out an application and be approved in person. Please contact us if you find a dog that you would like to know more about. All HSCC animals are spayed or neutered. We now have Saturday and Sunday hours for walk-ins. Plus, you can view dogs during the week by appointment. Please call 410-257-4908 for more information.
Directions from Route 2 southbound:
Follow 2 south until 1/4 mile before the junction with Route 4. Turn left on Dalrymple Road. Our kennel is a few miles on the left just after you cross the small wooden bridge at Fishing Creek.
Directions from Route 4 southbound:
Follow 4 south until it joins with Route 2. Follow Route 2 north (toward Annapolis) for 1/4 mile. Turn right on Dalrymple Road. Our kennel is a few miles on the left just after you cross the small wooden bridge at Fishing Creek.
