About Us
Pennies for Pooches
All of 2012
Henderson Pet Valu | 963 Henderson Highway, Winnipeg
With the penny being taken out of circulation we are working together to collect as many pennies as we can! All the money raised will go towards helping pay for the various surgeries our dogs require as well as their general well being
Class rooms or work places are welcome to e-mail us for their own sponsor dog! We will include a bio, a break down of the care the dog needs, as well as general information about us as a rescue. Classrooms will be treated to a visit from their sponsor pooch if possible.

Our Mission
1. Reduce overpopulation of dogs in Manitoba;
2. Increase dog adoption and encourage responsible pet guardianship;
3. Rehabilitate sick or unsocialized dogs;
4. Reduce and ultimately eliminate euthanasia of adoptable dogs;
5. Advocate for dogs in need and create awareness on the importance of animal rescue.
Our Vision
Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue (MMDR) strives to be a leader in Manitoba’s dog rescue network. We work hand in hand with Manitoba communities, local organizations and the general public to improve animal welfare in Manitoba.
Our focus is to give dogs in need a second chance for a happily ever after. We aim to show Manitobans the lighter side of dog rescue and to do away with the sadness often associated with it. We want to create a sense of community among our supporters and for people to realize that fostering is a fun, rewarding experience and adopting a rescue dog is something to be proud of.
Our History
Co-Directors, Becky Nordquist and Sara Robinson founded MMDR in January 2011. We are a volunteer run non-profit dog rescue based in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. We are not breed specific; we take in dogs from all over Manitoba who have been abandoned, abused or surrendered at no fault of their own. Since inception, our team has grown from four board members to a dedicated team of over thirty.
