We are in the process of getting more volunteers, if you are interested and live close by and would like to volunteer please email me. we need foster homes, help cleaning, and marketing people. We are now a certified member of the presidential service awards, which means after so many hours of volunteering you will get a service award.

altering a bird can be life threatening so it is normally not done unless of course his or her life is in danger. there are only a hand full of veterinarians in the country that will perform this procedure on a bird. by not giving nesting materials and not introducing to the opposite sex is how you would prevent them from having eggs. however females once comfortable in their surroundings they will lay infertile eggs. any eggs should be pulled from the cage if you suspect it may be fertile. Some birds can be trained to poop on command but that is not recommended due to the fact they may not be with you their entire life and will not know what to do in a new environment. if you are interested in adopting from beaks and noses please fill out one of our applications which can be found at www.beaksandnoses.org/applications.html. we do not adopt our birds to families with cats or hunter type dogs, nor do we adopt to known breeders. also if the bird originally came from a breeder, he or she may have had vaccines against psitticosis and beak and feather disease. these shots are only given as babies and are not needed once the baby has built up its immune system.

We are now approved by the Ma. Dept of Agriculture, to take in out of state animals, however it is now used for incoming birds that have not been to see the vet .

We do not allow children in my house that are under 10 years of age, this is to prevent any possible injuries. Thank you for understanding

Who We Are

We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to saving the lives of as many Parrots as we are able to. We cover only the 6 New England states. we work with a few shelters in MA., but mostly do owner surrenders. we are non profit and 501c3, plus an approved facility for out of state dogs.

Adopting a friend

All Visits, will be done by appointment only! and only if your application has been approved - unless other plans were made between you and the foster Mom. You must give this serious thought, as there is no monetary refund, no matter how long you have had the dog or bird. We do take our animals back, and that will be on your adoption contract. the animal must come back to us, if in fact you can not keep him or her. If the animal has been physically abused , or neglected or shows signs of either one, you will be reported to the MSPCA , and will not get another animal from Beaks and Noses This is for the sake of the animal only

All of our potential adopters are carefully screened -- all of our birds are evaluated for temperament and all medical work will be perfomed before bird is placed in the proper environment, unless medical reasons prevent us from doing so. . we will not place a bird if it is not a direct match. Our Birds will not be used for Breeding purposes, and a contract will be signed,
