Please keep in mind that THOUSANDS of animals become homeless because of floods, fires, hurricanes, home foreclosures and other disasters in many states, EVERY year.
**Odd Dog Rescue has been able to send our experienced Animal Disaster Specialist volunteer to Tylertown Mississippi, New Orleans Louisianna, Gulfport Mississippi, Biloxie Mississippi and other national and LOCAL disasters to actively participate in the successful trapping, rescue and transport of animals left behind in the disaster zones. Hurricane season wrecks havoc on many southern states each year.
**Please support the constant ongoing animal rescue in the Gulf Coast regions by adopting a dog or cat from your LOCAL humane society, animal shelter or rescue.
ANY animal adopted from a LOCAL shelter today helps make room for the hundreds of animals that are STILL being rescued along the Gulf Coast -- and the hundreds more that are in holding centers awaiting transport to a shelter near you.
**We sometimes assist other Rescues and Shelters in the southern states in placing some of their great DOGS and PUPPIES. Every month many dogs come North to their new families and foster homes. Most will be medium sized dogs when full grown
**We also evaluate dogs and assist shelters in the rural areas of Vermont & NH. There are many GREAT dogs just a scenic 2 hour ride north from Northeastern MA.
**Please contact the foster mom that is listed * IN * each dogs info--for additional details on that particular dog and to proceed through the adoption process smoothly.
*We are currently seeking additional foster homes in NH & VT. Got room for another dog in your home for a few weeks? Please send us an e mail if you do.
LIVESTOCK
Odd Dog also does a limited amount of Cow & Livestock Rescue. We are presently looking for a donation of a stock trailer to transport rescued animals.

If we don't have what you are looking for--we will refer you to other organizations who will. There are many dogs in this area looking for their FOREVER homes. Let us help you find your next family member.
Our goal is to assist in placing as many "Odd Dogs" as our small resources and dedicated foster homes will possibly allow. We will also make referrals for other dogs and other organizations as well as continue to educate the public about proper animal care and commitment. Our mission is to help the GOOD dogs, regardless of BREED or mix, and to match the good families with appropriate dogs to match their needs and lifestyle.
Send us an e mail about the dog you are interested in, and please tell us WHERE you live, your past dog experience, other members or pets in the household, age of children, fenced or unfenced yard and what you are looking for in a loyal companion. We will try to match you up with the most appropriate dog for your particular living situation, or refer you to other shelters and rescues who may have what you are searching for.
We don't have a shelter at this time. Most of our lucky dogs are in active, experienced foster homes in the New England states, learning the art of fine house manners and basic commands. Some dogs are enrolled in dog classes and some have already graduated~!!
Since most of our dogs are in private homes, interviews are by appointment after your adoption application and pre-adoption interview have been completed.
