Who Are We?

All Paws Rescue is a non-profit, tax exempt, charitable humane society comprised solely of volunteers. Our work includes the rescue and sheltering of homeless animals, home to home pet placement services and veterinary assistance, including low-cost spay/neutering. We also work to increase public awareness of animal issues through education projects and outreach.

All of our pets, including puppies and kittens, will be spayed or neutered before placement. Preventative veterinary care is very important to us and we have some wonderful veterinarians who work with us. All our dogs are tested for heartworm and fully vaccinated. Our cats also fully vaccinated and tested for FIV and FELV and heartworm.

Adopting a Friend - Questions to Consider

•Do you have time for a pet?
As with people, pets need daily love and attention. It can be time consuming to devote daily attention to keeping a pet clean, well fed, healthy, and providing daily exercise.

•Are you ready for this sort of commitment?

•Are you permitted to and do you have room for a new pet?
Many apartment dwellers must seek the landlord's or management's permission to house a pet. At times, additional security deposits must be paid in order for pet ownership to be approved.

•Do You Have the Right Setup?
All pets, no matter how small, need a place to sleep and room to roam around the house. Inside cats need to have an area for their litter box, while dogs should have fenced yard where they can play safely.

•Can you afford a pet?
There are basic expenses that go along with pet ownership that should be considered. Grooming, pet food, and general pet care supplies, as well as annual innoculations and license fees can add up. When animals are ill, they need veterinary care. If you travel, there will be boarding costs or transportation fees if your pet travels with you. Be realistic when budgeting for your new pet to ensure you are able to sufficiently and comfortably provide for it.

•Do you have patience?
When a pet is brought into a new home, it can take a little while for them to become totally comfortable in their new environment. No matter how well trained and behaved a pet is, accidents may occur. Can you be patient and forgiving?

We Need Your Help

Our volunteers work tirelessly to rescue and place dogs and cats whose families cannot keep them or who have been cast aside and left in shelters. We are always in need of help from new volunteers.

We need foster homes and can work to get you the kind of foster pets who will be suited to your lifestyle.

We also need people to help with transport for the times when a dog must be pulled from a shelter fast.
