Please help us rescue pugs in New England. We rescued 129 pugs in 2006 and our vet expenses were more than $15,000 greater than the adoption fees we took in. If you would like to donate to help rescue pugs please visit our website at www.pugrescueofnewengland.org and donate via PayPal. Or, you can simply send your donation to Doris Aldrich, Treasurer, PRoNE, 17 Jones Road, Pelham, MA 01002.
Can't donate but still want to help? We are looking for VOLUNTEERS to foster, transport pugs, and to work at Outreach events. Please contact Bridget McGrath at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in volunteering with PRoNE.
Who We Are
Pug Rescue of New England is a registered 501C3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing pugs in need. We have been rescuing pugs since 1982 and have rescued over 700 pugs since 1998. PRoNE consists of foster homes in the six New England states of MA, RI, CT, NH, VT, and ME.
PRoNE is funded solely by adoption fees, our annual pug social and subscription fees to our wonderful newsletter, The Pug Phoenix. We will take in any and every pug from the six New England states, no matter what their age or health or behavioral isues. All of our pugs are veterinarian checked and updated on their shots and provided with the medical care they need to make them healthy and happy.
Occasionally we do have pugs with special needs and we are always looking for long term foster homes and for other volunteers as well.
Adopting a friend
All applicants interested in adopting from PRoNE will be required to fill out an adoption application and to do a telephone interview with a PRoNE adoption coordinator. Our intent is not to infringe on your privacy, but to make sure we make the best possible match between a PRoNE pug and an adoptive family.
If you are interested in adopting a pug, but are not interested in adopting a particular dog listed on Petfinder please visit www.pugrescueofnewengland.org and fill out an adoption application. Most of the pugs we list on Petfinder are our special cases but we do have other pugs available.
Please note that you can only adopt if you live in one of the six New England states we work in: Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
Come Visit Us!
Our pugs are located in foster homes across New England so we do not have a shelter you can visit. However, if you are interested in a particular pug we will let you know where that dog is being fostered. Because we only operate in New England you will not need to travel any further than the six New England states.
