Our Featured Pet...
"Knick Knack" (a female agouti hooded) and "Paddy Whack" (a female black hooded) are a year old and play well with other respectful rats. The girls have also become litter box trained since switching their bedding to fabric!
The girls started out real shy, especially Paddy Whack, and would hide whenever I approached. They have since started to trust me and now great me at their door. Paddy still freezes when I try to pick her up but now she doesn't run off the side of the bed in fear during playtime Smiley Paddy is a very athletic girl who loves having lots of things to climb on and dig through. She has a sleek athletic build, opposite of her squishable chubby sister. Knick Knack is a hamm and loves having all the attention, she is brave, very flirtatious and loves her sister.

Kim's Ark now has rat bracelets just like the Live Strong ones! We have "RATS ARE LOVE" in Silver, Pink, Red, and Purple. And "ADOPT A RAT" in Light Blue, Pink, Green, and Medium Blue. They are 1 for $4, 2 for $7, 3 for $11, and 4 for $13.50. ALL proceeds go towards the rescue rats!

Kim's Ark is in DESPERATE need of foster homes! It's almost that time of year again and we will be taking in lots of rats and mice from the Mt. Ida College Vet Tech program that would otherwise be euthanized. These cuties are used to teach handling and make great pets - we just need temporary housing and foster parents to show them the pet life :) Please let us know if you could help out the rescues!
Who We Are
Kim's Ark was started by a Tufts University veterinary student who has made it her mission to find homes for all of the world's often misunderstood rats. Kim's Ark rescues unwanted rats (and sometimes other small animals too!) and provides them with vet care and a foster home. The ratties are socialized with both people and other rats, getting them ready until they are adopted. Kim's Ark also works hard to provide transport throughout New England (MA, NH, RI, etc...) and the Mid-Atlantic states (NJ, NY, CT, MD, etc...) in order to get rats to their adoptive homes. If you live outside of this area still feel free to contact Kim's Ark for help finding rats in your area.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting a furry rodent friend, please email us at adopt@kimsarkrescue.org to obtain an Adoption Application.
There will be a small adoption fee, higher if you're adopting a neutered male (Neutering costs $80 - Kim's Ark asks you to pay $20)
- Rats will be adopted as PETS ONLY.
- Rats WILL NOT be adopted as feeders.
- Rats WILL NOT be adopted as breeders.
- Rats will be adopted in same sex pairs (except the neutered males) unless you have proof that you have other rats at home.
You will have to sign an adoption contract with these stipulations.

Help Out Kim's Ark!
You can help out the rescue rats in many ways. Apply to be a foster home (we are in DESPERATE need of foster homes!) or volunteer to help with transports.
Buying products from the Ark Store for your pets helps raise money for the rescues.
