Norton Animal Shelter

Our Adoptable Pet List

Click here to see our Happy Tails! NOTE: (These pets have already found homes)

When thinking of adopting a dog please bring your family with you, including other dogs that may be part of your family already. We will not adopt out any dog or cat without meeting yours first. The most common reason we hear why a cat is surrendered is due to allergies or moving and we can't take them. Please if you or your family has known allergies then don't adopt a cat that will eventually come back to the shelter. Please research the breed traits before adopting a dog. You will have to be responsible for teaching your new family member his/her manners. We recommend enrolling your dog into Basic Training classes making you and your dog much happier. We do not adopt by a first come first serve basis, we always look for for the best forever home for the pet. Vet References and Landlord's Approval required before finalization of any Adoption.

  • Who We Are

Norton Shelter had been in the works for almost 9 years. The shelter opened in June, 2002. Brian Plante is the animal control officer and animal inspector for the Town of Norton. The shelter was largely constructed by Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical School. We wish to thank them for all their hard work, helping to make Norton Shelter possible.

Norton Animal Shelter counts largely on donations from the public to be able to supply the animals with their basic care. We thank our friends at PoundHounds for the medical assistance they give our shelter dogs. Thanks to them our dogs have been able to receive much needed medical care, vaccines and spay/neutering. A big thanks for putting Norton Shelter dogs on the PoundHounds web site has also given our dogs another chance at adoption .
