The Northeast Animal Shelter, established in 1976, is one of New England's largest nonprofit shelters that does not destroy any of the pets entrusted to its care. We have placed thousands of dogs and cats since we opened our doors.

Northeast Animal Shelter is proud of our innovative programs to rescue animals, providing community outreach, and low cost Fspay spaying and neutering.

These programs are made possible entirely by private contributions. The Shelter receives no local, state or federal funding and we depend on the generosity of people like you to meet our annual operating budget. Once you learn more about our programs, please consider making a donation.

Puppies Across America

Each month our Puppies Across America program transports hundreds of abandoned puppies to our Shelter. They share our facility with locally rescued animals until each and every one is placed in a loving home.

Sato Rescue

Spanish slang for "street dog" or "mutt"...the Sato Rescue program transports abandoned and neglected street dogs from Puerto Rico to the Shelter for adoption.
