T

Adoption Policy

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have changed our normal operating procedures. We can no longer hold Meet-and-Greet events, but will be conducting private appointments only. We will be reviewing all applications and reaching out to applicants based on 'best match' for each dog and often closest proximity to Sudbury. If we don’t have a match in our service area, we will reach out further. If you are contacted for a private appointment, we ask that all household members be present and that you only come if you are ready to adopt immediately. In an effort to minimize the risk to all, we need to limit foot traffic in our shelter and limit the contact between our staff and the general public.

As we are working with a decreased staff and most are working remotely, we are unable to answer phone calls. Emails are better apt to get a response, but please be patient.

For health and safety reasons, we are not open for walk in visits. If we invite you out to meet a dog, you will be the only party at the shelter at that time so we ask you to be on time and we ask that all household members accompany you, including dogs*. If all parties are in agreement that a match has been made, we would ask you to move forward with the adoption immediately. We have a shelter store with all the supplies you may need, including food, harnesses, leashes, collars, crates, and bowls. You are welcome to bring your own harnesses, leashes, and a travel crate as well.

We will continue to update our protocols as this situation evolves. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for considering adopting a rescued dog!
