Whether you are looking for young, old, energetic or laid-back, we have
the perfect pet for your lifestyle. And if not today, as an open-admission
shelter, we may very well have what you are looking for tomorrow! Come
by and see all the homeless animals waiting for a family to love. We
have approximately 100 dogs and cats available for adoption on a regular
basis.
All of our animals have been spayed or neutered before they are released
for adoption. We encourage anyone with animals to spay or neuter their
pets.

Who We Are
Chartered in 1888, the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals (LA/SPCA) is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare
organization in the state. Our mission is to advocate for the animals
of Louisiana by advancing their welfare, promoting their interests,
and fostering the human-animal bond through innovative programs, education,
and service.
The LA/SPCA is not a state, parish or city governed shelter. We are
an independent 501(c)3 non-profit offering a broad range of services
and programs including advocacy, legislative services, statewide cruelty
investigations, sheltering, full-service animal control (Orleans Parish
only), adoption, disaster response, education, and obedience programs.
Adopting A Friend
