Dear Petfinder's Friends and Family,
Please make plans to come visit our facility soon. We are making changes around here at Walker Animal Control. We will soon be taking volunteers to come in and help out with some our dogs and cats, with bathing,grooming, and walking. Children under 15 will have to have a legal guardian with them at all times during the volunteering time. We love all our animals here at Walker Animal Control and would love to let them know someone else out there loves them the way we do.
I want to thank everyone in advance for your patience and understanding during this time of reconstructing the website, and undergoing new management at Animal Control. Hopefully things will be running smoothly soon.
News
All the animals up for adoption have received age appropriate shots, spay/neuter, and rabies vaccination (providing age), a deworming,
heartworm testing, and heartworm preventative.
Due to the medical treatment, spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations and the expenses occured while the animals are in our care, we have now raised the adoption fee to $65.00. We are not equipped to take payments other than cash.
Please make plans to come by our Control Center and open up your hearts and homes to one of our Town's displaced animals.

The shelter is always in need of the following donations:
Towels, Rags, Mats or Rugs, Food and Water Bowls, Blankets, Leashes, Collars, Brushes, Litter Pans, Toys, Dog and Cat Carriers, a Puppy Play Yard.
Your donations are greatly appreciated, and of course, we will come pick up the items if it is more convienent for you.
Any monetary donations can be dropped off at Walker Town Hall Mon-Thurs. from 8am-5:00pm.

Who We Are
Walker Animal Control Center is a small shelter located in Walker, Louisiana; serving the residents located inside the city limits of our beautiful City of Walker. We strive to educate the public in responsible pet ownership and find loving responsible homes for our unwanted and abused strays. We also have a Vet from LSU that comes out every other week and checks our strays out to make sure that they are in good enough health to be adopted. That is just another step we take to make sure you are getting a pet that will be in good health for you to be able to take home and start showing your love for it without the worries. In addition to having our animals regularly checked by a Vet, we also work directly with rescue organizations that help us get our strays that are running out of time adopted out to a good home.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is $65.00. Which covers, one rabies vaccination/voucher, the first set of shots and the first worming,and spay/ neuter. All adopters are required to sign an adoption contract. This contract insures that the pet will be responsibly cared for and kept as a lawful, loving pet by a responsible pet owner! For more information please feel free to call Monday through Thursday 9AM to 5PM and Friday we are Closed.

The Shelter is located at 13740 Ball Park Rd in Walker. Ball Park Road is located off of Hwy 447 (Walker North Rd) appx. one mile north of Florida Blvd. After turning onto Ball Park Rd (right), go approx. 1/4 mile on the right pass the stop sign, in the fenced area.
