Who We Are
The St. Charles Parish Humane Society is a non-profit volunteer organization that was established in 1993. We provide adoption services from the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter. Generous donations and grant moneys allow for low cost sterilization, vaccinations and medications, and proper care of the pets being housed by the shelter.Ever since the Humane Society became involved with the shelter, it has been in DESPERATE need of a major upgrade! The change to provide a better "rest stop" for the pets at the shelter and to be able to better serve our community, will cost us a minimum of 1 million dollars. We have the land donated and some moneys saved, but we REALLY need additional funding. If you would like to contribute to our society and help the abandoned pets of St. Charles Parish, donations can be directly given to the shelter via mail or drop-off. You can mail donations directly to the St. Charles Humane Society at 13875 Frere St., Luling, LA 70070. Thank you for your continued support!!
CURRENT OFFER: Through sponsorship of the St. Charles Humane Society and provided by St. Charles Parish, you can now have your pet (cat or dog) microchipped for only $15.00. Once the chip is injected into your pet any veterinarian's office or animal shelter can scan the chip's general location and all of the pet owner's information (name, address, phone number) can be found!!
The Humane Society in coordination with the animal shelter staff provide a variety of programs to promote pet spay/neutering awareness.

We are located at 13875 Frere Street off of River Road directly under the I-310 Bridge in Luling.The shelter is open Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The cats and dogs on our "Pet List" are just a few of the animals we have for adoption. New pets are available DAILY. Please come and VISIT the shelter to see all animals currently available for adoption.

NOW we are visiting the Freret Market (http://www.freretmarket.org) the first Saturday of every month in coordination with Zeus' Place (http://michelle.ingram.googlepages.com/home). We will bring a variety of dogs currently available for adoption and take applications from potential adopters.
The St. Charles Parish Humane Society visits the PetSmart located at 6851 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie every Saturday with a variety of dogs currently being housed at the shelter. Plus we have cats at this location 7 days a week available for adoption Monday-Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.!
