Most of our rescued animals come from animal shelters although some are displaced due to owner surrender. All 4 Paws Society adult animals are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. All animals offered for adoption have been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, started on heart worm prevention and have received treatment for any medical condtions. Puppies may be adopted with an additional contract to alter the pup when it is old enough.
4 Paws Society welcomes new volunteers. There are numerous ways to help us in our efforts. Sponsors and friends are important to help us achieve our committment to providing hope and love for the abandoned animals.

Here's what you need to do...
Submit an adoption application....we can e-mail you one, mail you one or give you one when you meet the animal of interest. Once you submit the adoption application a 4 Paws Society volunteer will review the application with you. All questions need to be answered fully. You can submit the adoption application via e-mail, fax, mail or in person.

We check your vet reference...we verify vet references that are given on your adoption application. We verify that you current or previous pets have been on heartworm prevention and have been vaccinated according to schedule and that they have been altered.
A Home Visit is Scheduled...a home visit is mandatory for all adopters. This will involve a rescue volunteer coming to your home and visiting with you. If you live out of the immediate area then we do a "virtual" home visit. You send pictures via e-mail of your yard and home, then a 4 Paws representative calls you to do the home visit questionnaire over the phone.
Once the process is completed 4 Paws Society will discuss your application, vet reference and home visit reports. We will notify you of your adoption status
When your adoption is approved we will require you to sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Fees range from $100 - $200 depending on the vet care costs and the breed of the pet. The fees will help other abandoned animals in need that are in our program.
We are open 7 days a week from 8am-5pm for adoptions. Take the second Sulphur exit (EXIT 21) and head south on Beglis Pkwy. At the second redlight, make a right, the first left you can take is S. Boudoin Rd, we have a sign on the corner "4 Paws on the Bayou", once you take that left, take the second right, this is Hardy Rd., we are located at the dead end of Hardy, on 8 Acres with a large pond.
