4 Paws Society is committed to providing hope and love for abandoned animals. We specialize in all-breed dog rescue. We are located in SW Louisiana.
Despite the commitment of animal control/shelter worker to the animals in their care over 5 million animals are being killed in shelters in the USA each year. We encourage the public to not buy but rather adopt an abandoned animal. Why buy while shelter dogs die?
4 Paws Society is a non-profit group of non-paid volunteers. Our Mission is:a) To rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned animals in Southwest Louisianab) To prevent cruelty, abuse and neglect of animals in our communityc) To implement spay/neuter programs that reduce animal overpopulation in our communityd) To ultimately achieve a "No Kill" community through educating, inspiring and collaborating with others to end euthanasia as a means of animal control
Most of our rescued animals come from animal shelters although some are displaced due to owner surrender. All 4 Paws Society adult animals are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. All animals offered for adoption have been vaccinated, spayed/neutered, started on heart worm prevention and have received treatment for any medical condtions. Puppies may be adopted with an additional contract to alter the pup when it is old enough.
4 Paws Society welcomes new volunteers. There are numerous ways to help us in our efforts. Sponsors and friends are important to help us achieve our committment to providing hope and love for the abandoned animals.
For more information about 4 Paws Society contact us at email@example.com or call 337-287-3552. We hold monthly meetings and encourage attendance of new volunteers.
4 Paws does not adopt out dogs on a first come, first serve basis. Because we want this placement to result in a forever home, we will place the dog with the adopter best suited for him/her. We do not hold dogs for homes that are not ready to adopt yet or have not yet been approved.
All adult dogs must be spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated prior to adoption. Puppies are handled differently but must ultimately be altered and fully vaccinated.

When your adoption is approved we will require you to sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Fees range from $100 - $200 depending on the vet care costs and the breed of the pet. The fees will help other abandoned animals in need that are in our program.
