We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here. |
The St. Martin Parish Animal Control Facility's address is 1004
Industrial Park Road, St. Martinville LA 70582.
Tel.: (337) 394-1220
It is a new building located in the outskirts of town, past Wal Mart,
behind the old Fruit of the Loom plant.
IMPORTANT: MANY animals are brought in every day which have
either been picked up by animal control or "surrendered" by their
owners. Because of the number of unwanted pets, lack of space makes
it impossible to keep them until they get adopted, and the sad and
awful truth is that many will therefore be EUTHANIZED !
If you are interested in an animal please call (337) 394-1220
immediately and leave a message and phone number. It may be difficult
to reach someone on the phone because the staff has so much to do,
but please keep trying.
ADOPTION FEES: Adoptions are on a first come first served basis (this is why it is a good idea to call first). The $65 adoption fee entitles you to a $50 spay/neuter certificate and a $10 rabies certificate.
YOU CAN'T ADOPT...
WHAT CAN YOU DO? The pets for adoption at the St.
Martin Parish Animal Control Facility have very little time left.
Sometimes one week is all the time they have to be adopted or rescued
before they are euthanized. Some of them are very lucky to be taken
by rescue groups. However this costs money (transport, heartworm
treatment, deworming, vaccinations, neutering, food, etc...)
Soooo... what can YOU do? You can donate
to the St. Martin Parish Animal Control Facility 1004
Industrial Park Road, St. Martinville LA 70582.< and the money will be earmarked for
these pets. Once a pet is "pulled" from the pound by a rescue group,
donations can be transferred to the rescue group(s), making it
possible for the same groups to maybe save another one!
FOSTERING: Another way to help is by FOSTERING a pet until we find a permanent home. If you'd like to foster, please remember that the fostered pet(s) must be available for the public to see until they are adopted. Please ask the staff how to save a life by fostering.
TRANSPORTATION: Sorry! While the staff will be happy to work with you, they do not have the time to arrange for transportation or to find a boarding place. If you do not live in this area, you may want to contact a rescue group to help you save the life of the pet you would like to adopt.
RESCUE GROUPS: The St. Martin Parish Animal Control Facility is happy to work with rescue groups. Contact the facility with proof of your 501(3)(C) status.
