All Creatures Rescue is really looking forward to meeting all of our new adopters! We have several new additions and never know when more may come our way. Please check with us often to see if we have your new friend waiting in one of our foster homes. If you don't see a pet listed you are interested in, please send us an email. You never know, your perfect pet just may not have been listed yet! ACR also works with other rescue groups, if we do not have a pet you are interested in, we may know of someone who has the perfect dog, cat, bird or small animal for you.

Would you like to be a foster parent for a rescued pet? If you cannot adopt but would love to help an animal in need, please contact us through our website. There is nothing more rewarding than being a foster Mom or Dad to a pet that just needs love. Foster parents help us and the animals in so many ways! As a foster you our not only helping the pet, but should you fall in love, you will have the first option to adopt. Foster parents help bring their foster fur-child to vet appointments and help them recover from any treatments that may be required before adoption. Who Is All Creatures Rescue?
All Creature's Rescue, aka ACR, is a non-profit, all volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless, abandoned and abused pets in the SW Louisiana area. We are a volunteer only group that operates through the loving care of our foster homes. We do not have a shelter to house our rescued friends, therefore we can only help those that we can place into the hands of our Foster Parents. All of our rescues are placed into the most secure and loving homes, nothing else will do! We specialize in the placements of our canine and feline friends but we will also assist in finding loving homes for Birds and Small Animals.
How Do I Adopt A New Friend?
If you are interested in adopting one of our rescues you can visit our website at . We will only be available via email or our website. Please keep in mind before submitting your application that all of our homes are carefully screened to ensure our rescues get only the best. Just because an application is submitted does not mean you are approved for adoption. You will be subjected to veterinary checks, personal reference checks, and a homevisitation before you are approved. We never adopt out our rescues quickly, we only want was is best for them as they have all experienced hardships in their lives. We do not contact potential adopters by phone until an approved application is on file.
Our Adoption Process Is As Follows:
1) Email us
allcreaturesrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application regarding the pet you are interested in.
2) Fill out the Adoption Application entirely (no blanks) and email or mail it back to us.
3) Upon receipt of you application we will check your veterinary references, if you have not used a vet in the last 3 years please list 2 personal references.
4) You will receive an email to set up a phone interview at a time that is conveinent for all parties involved.
5) Phone Interview- during the phone interview you will learn more about the pet you are interested in and if you are still interested the Home Visitation will be set up on a date conveinent for all. Please keep in mind that our volunteers have full time jobs, school, families, and their rescue efforts to schedule around. It may take up to 2 weeks before the visitation can be conducted depending on where you are located.
6) Homevisit- During the homevisit we will want to see all of the places your pet will have access to in your home, yard, etc. If we find everything to be suitable for the approval of adoption we will complete all necessary paperwork. The animal you are interested in may or may not be present at the time of the visitation, we will determine if the animal is present. If the animal is present at the time of the visitation and seems comfortable we will consider leaving that animal in your care at that time. Usually more than one homevisit is conducted to help the pet adapt to his/her new surroundings while being with the people they trust.
Adoption Fees and Donations
Our Adoption Fees vary depending on the breed, health, and type of animal for adoption. By Adopting from us you are NOT buying a dog, cat, or any other pet we offer. Adoption Fees are NOT negotiable! We are fortunate when we can recieve an adoption fee that actually covers the cost of veterinary care, if you cannot afford an adoption fee, you simply cannot afford a pet. Average yearly cost for a well cared for dog is $300-$500; this includes good quality food, heartworm prevention, flea control, and vet care. Adoption Fees are considered donations, they not only help with the cost the pet you adopt incurred while with us but your adoption fee goes directly into our funds to help other homeless pets. In other words, the more pets we adopt out the more we can save! We accept Donations through our website, mail, and our veterinary clinic; you can email us for our vet's info if you would like to donate that way. Donations come in many forms, we receive everything from cash, to medical supplies, food, and even gift cards....all our wonderful and greatly appreciated!
