Who We Are
Calcasieu Parish Department of Animal Services & Adoption Center is a bench mark facility for the state. We pride ourselves in the cleanliness of the facility, the attention to the animals, and the ability to work with reputable rescue organizations. We have a newly built dog park next door and adoption gardens complete with fountain, statuary, and a relaxing atmosphere to play with your prospective companion.
Shelter hours for adoption are from 12pm - 7pm through the week. The offices within the shelter are open from 8am - 7pm. The shelter is closed on weekends. If you would like to volunteer to work with the animals, bathe/groom them, just show them about love, please contact us. If you would like to help out by donating needed items like heartworm prevention, flea control, or any other way that will help to make our animals more adoptable, please contact the adoption counselor.
