The Dogfighter Hot Line (1-877-847-4787) (this is NOT a local police number) is sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States. You can receive an award of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a dogfighter. All information is kept confidential: no one will know you've called. The line is answered 24/7. You can leave a message, talk to an investigator, or get their e-mail address and leave your own. If a dogfight is in progress, immediately call the police, 9-1-1 (and the State Police @ 676-3313). Then call the hotline!!!!!!!!!! If you are served by a local trade paper, Show N Tell, the ad reads...PUPPIES WANTED-Mixed Breeds, Small & Large, Up to 8 weeks of Age. Fredonia, Ky. 270-963-XXXX. PLEASE DO NOT give them ANY PUPPY/DOG, other local tri-state rescues have found these puppies are going for BAD/horrific reasons! Pass this to every dog owner or person served by Show N Tell trade paper. If you know of someone that is breeding for revenue...I spoke with the IRS personally. If you know of anyone dog fighting or breeders (bad breeders I'm thinking of), you can report them to the IRS if you suspect or know they are NOT reporting their income from the dog fights or breeding. Fill out form 3949A Information Referral. Go to their web and download it. Their web is...www.irs.gov. Form 3949A . You DO NOT have to submit your name or number if you do not wish to! Dogs are being removed from pens and fenced yards. Watch your dogs, escort them when outside, put locks on pens and fenced yards, anchor pens down. Two men in a red truck (once again) have been spotted in the areas of the missing animals. Dog fights are still held WEEKLY in Hopkins County. Recently a new load of dogs have been pulled out of near by lakes. They had been used as dog bait. They are being pulled from Earlington Lake and Nortonville Lake. These are Hopkins County house pets or outside pets that have been stolen! I have asked the Madisonville Messenger and Dawson Springs Progress to investigate and then print the information I have shared with you here. Attention Hopkins County, Madisonville residents and animal lovers. We, like all other counties in Kentucky have animal problems. In Hopkins County there are "bad" breeders. They are breeding anything and everything. Some breeders are taking "free" pets from the local paper and breeding them until they can't be bred anymore or they sell them because they can't make money off the animal any longer. In Hopkins County, there are weekly, illegal dog fights. They are taking "stolen" or "free" animals from our area and using that animal as "dog bait" in the weekly fights. We have the laws, per our local legislators, to stop this but only if it is reported. If you have any information or evidence about the dog fights, please turn to your local police and sheriff's office. If you any information concerning dog fighting or dog stealing, you may call Crime Stoppers @ 825-1111. This line does not have caller ID. If you would like to leave your name or telephone number, if anyone is convicted of the crime you reported, you are eligible for a cash reward. It is staffed M-F, 8 AM to 4 PM, if unavailable or gone, you can leave a message on the answering machine 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you wish, you may write or email Pet Lovers United, Inc., we will take your info about dog fighting to our "contacts" at the proper police agencies. If you would like to turn in bad breeders to PLU, please write or email PLU. Dog Fighting info...Call Belinda for contact information. Our mailing address is: Pet Lovers United, Inc., PO Box 1701, Madisonville, KY. 42431, or email at petlovers@vci.net. We will try to keep your name out if you wish, if we cannot, we will FIRST come to you. We give our word!

News

If you are interested in any of our animals, you MUST FIRST send all required information requested in "Adopting A Friend" area. This DOES NOT bind you to our animals. You are welcome to back out at any time. Our animals will be taken to one of the vets Pet Lovers United, Inc., chooses to have any necessary work...spay/neuter/shots, given. We have found in the past that the new adopting owners are NOT keeping their word as to the signed adoption contract as to providing spay/neuter/shots for the animals once they leave Pet Lovers United and this will no longer be accepted. *Any new pet owner must provide all requested information and you WILL be screened. If you do not like this procedure, you may wish to go to another rescue*.

Who We Are

We are a 501 (c) 3, no-kill animal organization in Hopkins County. Pet Lovers United, Inc., does not have a building location for our animals. Therefore, we must place them in foster homes or board the pet(s) if the owner will not keep. We are all volunteers. We operate off of fundraisers and the public's donations. We warn the public of hazzards to the animal owners in Hopkins County like weekly, illegal dog fighting, dog theft for the dog fights, dog theft for resale to research laboratories, bad breeders obtaining "free" or "found" house pets for their breeding endeavors. We take your donated food and feed stray dogs like a Mix Pit Bull puppy that was dropped in the middle of a vacant field until a foster home could be found. We give your donated dog houses to owners that may be down on their luck or having a financial difficulty due to high medical bills/purchasing medicine or lay offs. *When sending any email to Pet Lovers United, Inc., please make sure you put animal's name or nature of email in "subject" line or it may not be opened. Thank You.
