Who We Are
The Woodford Humane Society is a non-profit animal advocacy group in Versailles, Kentucky. We serve as the shelter to all the homeless, unwanted, unloved animals in Woodford County, and also accept animals from surrounding counties and even other states.
Among the services that the Woodford Humane Society provides is education about animal welfare and low-cost spay/neuter services. Several events have been sponsored by this Adoption Center over the years including many offsite Adoption Events and our Annual Freedom Fest event. Freedom Fest is a popular fund-raiser with a dinner buffet, live and silent auction, farm tours and dancing.
Adopting a Friend
Are you looking for a furry friend? If so, we have a wide variety to choose from. There are many cute and cuddly kitties, from the cutest kittens to the wiser adult cats. We also have a wide variety of dogs, from proud puppies to the more mature life long friend.
Adoption Fee is $100 for adult dogs, $120 for small breeds, $120 for puppies under 5 months old and $140 for purebred puppies. We now offer a Senior Discount of $10 off any adoption fee for adopters 65 years and older. Adoption includes for dogs or puppies:
Spay/neuter DHPP (distemper shot) Fecal and worming Bordatella (kennel cough vaccine) Heartworm Test Free vet visit Certificate for a Rabies shot Bag of food Thirty days of Pet Health Insurance Microchip and lifetime registration
Cat adoption fees are $70 for any cat and $90 for any kitten under 5 months of age as well as any purebred, declawed or polydactyl adult cats. Purebred, declawed or polydactyl kittens are $110. We offer a Senior Discount of $10 off any adoption fee for adopters 65 years and older. Adoption fees for cats include:
