We may have Bostons who are not listed on our website yet. Several are undergoing evaluation and cannot be listed at this time. Please email requesting an application to submit to our screening process even if you do not see a Boston you are interested in at this time. Many adopters have been pre-approved and were able to pick up their new Boston within a few days after the dog was altered and vetted. Due to the high volume of Boston Terriers entering our program, it is STRONGLY recommended that if you are serious in adopting a rescued Boston, you submit your application as quickly as possible in order to be considered as an adoptive parent.
KTBTR is in DIRE need of additional foster homes now that we are covering KY and TN. Please consider opening your home and heart to a deserving Boston needing a second chance. Without foster homes KTBTR would not be able to save these precious Bostons. Foster homes must complete a home visit, application, and provide vet references.
*** ALL DOGS LEAVING OUR PROGRAM ARE SPAYED OR NEUTERED PRIOR TO PLACEMENT.****
Who We Are
Kentucky Tennessee Boston Terrier Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing
dogs from shelters/individuals in Kentucky and Tennessee and finding them permanent homes. We also
strive to educate the public as to the importance of spaying/neutering and
heartworm prevention. We provide foster care and rehabilitation for
abused/neglected dogs to provide them with the opportunity to successfully
adapt to a new home.
Adopting a friend
Out of state adoptions are welcome, We do not transport or ship. All potential adopters must submit to home visits and provide vet and personal references. As a general rule, KTBTR does not adopt Boston Terriers to homes with small children ( under 11 years of age). It is a common misconception that Bostons do well with small children. KBTR receives several Bostons a year who have bitten small children due to typical child behavior ( yelling, screaming, trying to carry the dog). Bostons have excellent temperment and are very tolerant but will only tolerate so much. For this reason, we have developed a no small children policy and do not recommend Bostons ( not even puppies) to homes with small children.
Rescued Bostons are fostered in our private homes and not in a facility. For this reason, we can not allow visitors unless you have submitted to our screening process and have been approved for adoption. All of our foster homes work jobs in addition to fostering Bostons. For this reason, it is advised that any phone calls concerning adoption take place after the hour of 5 PM CST. To complete and submit an on-line application
