Adopting A Friend

Once you fall in love with their picture, your next step is to schedule a meet and greet. We require a meet and greet questionnaire.
to be filled out. This is our meet and greet questionnaire:
Meet & Greet Questionnaire

Animals Name:

Do you have any children?
If so, what ages?

Do you have other animals in the home?
Please list them.

If you have other animals in the home, do they regularly see a vet?

Are they spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines?

Do you have a fenced in yard?

Thank you for completing our quick Meet & Greet Questionnaire. We will contact you shortly to schedule a meet and greet.

Q: What is a Meet & Greet?

A: A "meet and greet" is a time scheduled for you and your family to meet the potential furry friend you're interested in bringing in to your home. We understand it's important to meet the companion animal of your choice and create a special bond. "

Once a meet and greet questionnaire has been completed, we will work with you to find the best time for you to come to our location to meet your new family member.

After the meet and greet, we require an adoption application to be filled out. Our adoption application is found at www.tysonschance.com under the tab labeled "Adoptions & Fostering." The process for approving or declining an application takes about one week.
Our adoption process requires current vet reference, home check, personal reference, renter/home information, as well as current and previous pet history. A home check is required for all dogs and cats.

Once the application is approved, we will contact you with more information on when you can pick up your new fur baby.

Adoption fee dog dogs: $150
Adoption fee for cats: $75

Who We Are

Tyson's Chance Animal Foundation Inc. was founded in February 2011. Tyson's specializes in the rescue of special needs animals. We are known for taking in dogs with severe issues, be it medical, behavioral, or just the ones that nobody wants. About 50% of our animals are considered "special needs." We love Pit Bulls and senior dogs. We love to heal the sick and rehabilitate the misunderstood. We also adopt out puppies, kittens, and adults with no issues at all. Tyson's rescues all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments.  All of our rescues are located at Shelburne Pet Center, 353 Kentucky St. Shelbyville, KY, a handful can be in foster at any time.

Volunteer Opportunities

We always need helping hands at Tyson's Chance. We have 25+ dogs in our program who all need attention, exercise, and socialization. Our need for dog walkers is urgent! We need people over the age of 18 years old to join us in walking our dogs. We require you to only sign a volunteer waiver. We will train you on our walking techniques and pair you up with a great dog in need of a volunteer.

Can you help? You can print out our Volunteer Release Form and bring it with you to save some time.
