Who We Are
First & foremost the Hancock County Ky Humane Society is 100% for the ANIMALS & nothing else. All Animals domestic, reptiles, birds, wildlife & exotic. We love them all. We work with several other rescues, humane societies, shelters, etc... The Hancock Co. Humane Society is NOT in competition with anyone. We will help & pitch in with any animal loving organization if we are needed to make an animals life better. Our one & only goal is to change the way animals are treated & to give them a voice.
The Hancock County Ky Humane Society is a NO- KILL, 501(c)3, incorporated, NON-Profit, animal care and assistance organization. Our goal through fund raising and donations is to reduce the number of unwanted animals through spay/neuter programs, to offer educational programs on pet ownership and to reduce the number of pets that are euthanized each year. We raise money to feed the animals we have in our foster homes, pay for their vet care, any medicine they need, trap spay/neuter release of feral cats, assist our local Animal Shelter with vet bills, as well as other shelters or rescues to help lower adoption fees, help people in our community when they can not afford proper care for their pets and to some day have enough money to build a facility. We are dedicated to help, heal and give hope to unwanted, lost, abused or neglected animals. We believe that ALL animals deserve humane treatment.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption application is easy to fill out and the adoption fee depends on the animal you chose. With the adoption fee we only ask for what has been spent on that certain pet. Unless that pet has had huge vet bills. Our one & only goal if for pets in our care to get the best possible homes. We raise the money for the animals & are not looking to make any money off adoptions. Just recoup some of what we spent if we can.
