For ADOPTING & more information on this poor boy's history, please read below:
4-26-09: Meet Brutus! He is a poor sweet boy who is looking for another chance in life. Brutus we rescued from a high kill shelter the day he was going to be euthanized for 'space'. He is a purebred Mastiff, Brown/Reddish Brindle in color, and right now about 60lbs, (although when he gains the appropiate weight, he should weigh about 75-80lbs.).
Brutus only has 3 legs. -Although he is missing a leg, he gets around fine and is active. He has obviously been attacked by another dog because his ears are ripped up. The way the vet described his ears were 'torn sails on a ship'. Brutus's teeth are worn, because of being without food for so long he had to scavenge around for whatever he could find, including rocks or anything he came across he thought he could eat.
Upon taking Brutus to the vet it was discovered that this poor boy was shot at and has some buckshot in in his ears and back. The vet was the one who discovered the bullets upon doing an xray, and even thought they are in his body, they do not need to be removed, and are no causing him any harm. -Just knowing this adds to the history of violence and pain this poor boy has been through.
When we took Brutus to the vet he did test Heartworm positive. We went ahead and treated him for the Heartworms, and he is ready to go home now.
Since we treated him for Heartworms, we need help raising the money to pay his vet bill for the heartworms. The amount of his vet bill is $938.84.
Besides the wear and tear Brutus can be best described as a 'Gentle Giant'. He is housebroken, and we definately want to see him live indoors in a loving home for the rest of his life. Brutus is also great with other dogs, animals, and really anyone. The reason why we rescued him despite everything he has been through is because we really felt like he deserved another chance. He has been through so much hardship in his life that he really deserves to know what a loving home and a great life is like.
Brutus will need to be neutered before he goes home, which is why his adoption fee is $125.00. This helps cover part of the cost of his neuter, microchip and shots.
IF YOU CAN'T ADOPT, PLEASE CONSIDER SPONSORING THE ANIMALS (TOWARDS THEIR ADOPTION FEE) SO THAT THE ADOPTION FEES CAN COME DOWN AND THE ORPHANS WILL HAVE AN EASIER TIME FINDING A HOME.
If you can donate, please send donations to our Paypal account at mcfisher85@hotmail.com, or email us for the address to send check donations to. Thank you!!!
To see Brutus, or any of our other animals, please email us at mcfisher85@hotmail.com, or call 502-330-3431, you must be 18 to adopt, and serious inquiries only please!!! Thank you and we will look forward to hearing from you!!!
All bunnies are spayed/neutered before being adopted.
Bunny adoption fees vary per rabbit since they all come from different locations. Some come in fixed, some have pull fees from the shelters we pull them from, and some come in not vetted at all so we have to completely pay for them to get fixed and ready to go home. Our adoption fees are either $35, $45, or $55 depending on which situation they come from. Each rabbit should have the appropriate adoption fee listed on its page.
We got on Petfinder on 4-26-08!!!
We started out as 'small and furry critter' rescue located in Kentucky, as time has gone by we have also taken on many cats and dogs as well as wild animals. We are a non-profit group that assists humane societies, animal shelters and other animal rescues across the state with placing/fostering small animals who have been abandon, abused, neglected, -you name it we have seen it! So often do we hear people say, "Well I didn't know that my humane society/animal shelter had little critter animals!!!" Now people can really see that YES, there are little animals in need of homes that have been tossed out like trash (some litterally with the trash). -Please don't go to the pet store and buy, or breed when pets in shelters die!!! We try to help out as much as we can so if you have or know someone that needs to place a little critter in a new home or would like to adopt a little critter~ PLEASE send them to us! -Country Critters!!
Please email us at mcfisher85@hotmail.com, or call us at 502-330-3431 (Due to high volume of emails and phone calls it may take a few days for me to get back to you, so please leave a message. I promise I will return your call. We do not have a facility yet, and we operate out of foster homes, so this is my personal cell phone.) ~Serious inquiries only please, and you must be 18 to adopt!!! Thank you!!!
IF YOU COULD SEND US A DONATION FOR SUPPLIES THROUGH A GIFT CERTIFICATE IT WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED!!
