KENTUCKY WORKING K-9 -TRAINING & RESCUE....

A Life Saved To Serve Another!

WHO WE ARE...

Kentucky Working K-9 Training & Rescue actually trains and works each and every dog in our care on a daily basis. All dogs are worked based on their individual talents and level of interest in performance ranging from Basic thru Advanced Obedience thru Working Capabilities.

OUR GOAL

to save the life of an otherwise unwanted or abandoned or euthanized animal and then utilize his or her special ability to enhance the lives of the humans in which he or she interracts with, thus... a life saved to serve another.

OUR ADOPTION RADIUS

Kentucky Working K9 will adopt to all 50 states but you must travel to the facility to meet the dog. No shipping of animals. We do not meet half way. The dog shows its best and most correct personality and behavior on its home turf.

WHAT TO EXPECT TO FIND HERE.....

Kentucky Working K-9 Training & Rescue is a training facility that rescues homeless dogs of working group breeding on a space availability basis. We have experience training for: Basic-Advanced Obedience, Narcotic, Tracking, Bomb, Seizure Alert, Glucose Alert, Mobility Assistance, Handler Protection, Article Find, and many other places in which you have seen dogs being used.

ADOPTION PROCEDURES.....

If you see a dog you are interested in, call us. Our dogs are trained differently to do different things, no two dogs are alike, so be prepared to be open and honest about what you are looking for in a dog when you call. The success of your adoption will depend on this more than anything else. We will conduct a brief telephone interview and reference check. Once complete you will be invited to come and meet the dog(s) you are interested in. Dogs are shown to potential adopter in environment in which they were trained, and potential adopter can try dog for themselves. If compatible, potential adopter fill out adoption paperwork and sign adoption agreement, pay fee and take posession of dog.

NOTE: If needed, a Handler Instruction Course will be provided to you for acclimation of your skills to your trained dog Free of Charge. However, if after the course you do not adopt the dog, you may be asked to pay for the Handler Instruction Course. Sessions monitored by video surveillance for security purposes.

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?" God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly. "I have done something," He replied. "I created you.”
