You don't have to live in Kentucky to be a foster/shelter aide/overnighter/transporter for L.A.P.S.; we need people all over.
Would you like to join the rewarding effort of animal rescue?
You can do so by fostering a very deserving furbaby until an approved forever home can be found, or pull one from a kill shelter and keep him for a day ot two until transport can be arranged to a foster home, or be a part of a transport team that gets rescued dogs to where they need to be.! ~ Who We Are ~
We started this rescue to save schnauzers and schnauzer mixes in KY and neighboring states. My first experience with schnauzers left me so beholden to my dear Shotzie, a pound puppy who never would have been adopted as she had severe allergies, no fur on her body and a swollen ear but displayed alot of love and drew me to her. This rescue is for you, Shotzie , and I need you to help me help others to understand just what these poor babies have been through. I miss you and would give anything to have you back. This is the only way I know to keep your memory alive baby girl!
Our policies are strict. First, please fill out an application and we will review it, be sure to give us your vet reference and then look forward to a telephone interview and home visit. Our dogs have been abandoned, ignored and sometimes mistreated so our mission truly is to find them the best possible home. We thank you for your patience and look forward to talking to you in the near future.
We do not have a kennel. The dogs are all fostered by volunteers who donate their homes, love and attention to our babies. We work full time jobs and rescue in our ' spare ' time. Thank you for understanding that sometimes we cannot return calls immediately but will contact you quickly. We love our dogs and want you to also, so thanks for checking us out and I look forward to sharing our experiences with you.
