FUNDS NEEDED! Spring is in the air and that means - puppies and kittens. It's the most important time of the year for shelters when they fill up quickly with unwanted dogs and cats. If you can, maybe you can have your dog or cat spayed or neutered? Perhaps you would consider giving by sponsoring a spay/neuter? Or providing food for feral cats, or pets whose caregivers are going through difficult times? The Pet Assistance League would appreciate any assistance that will allow us to assist others.
Spring is also the time of year when severe storms can wreck havoc with communities. Don't forget your pets in your emergency plans! Take pictures of you and your pets together in case you were to be seperated. Have copies of your veterinarian records in case you needed to stay in a shelter. Keep a carrier or leash handy.
The Pet Assistance League (P.A.L.) is made up of individuals who have a compassion for animals and the humans who care for them. We are dedicated to bettering the lives of the animals in our community and educating pet owners. The partners in our organization are longtime advocates for animals and seek to continue to educate themselves in all matters regarding our companion animals, so we, in turn, are better able to serve our community.
We concentrate on providing education and awareness on pet-related topics, especially in the areas of spay/neuter, disaster preparedness, and legislative action. We offer financial assistance for spay/neuter procedures when funds are available, and help with pet vaccinations and veterinary care on a limited basis. In addition, we provide donated pet food and litter on a temporary basis to those in need.
We are an all-volunteer group, and 100% of all donations received are used to assist pets. A large portion of our funding comes from an on-going garage sale for which items are donated. We accept monetary donations as well as garage sale items, pet food and litter, and other pet supplies.
Feel free to contact us to request a copy of our brochure and/or our most recent "PAL Patter" newsletter.
Although we are not a shelter or a rescue group, we do occasionally find ourselves fostering animals until they can be placed. Our adoption procedure is simple. You will be asked to fill out an Adoption/Application Agreement which helps us assess compatibility. Adoption fees vary with the type of animal (generally $35 - $45), and are used only to help cover the cost of spaying or neutering - which is a requirement of adoption.
