Our Featured Pet...

KICHI

Hi! I was chained to a tree for a long time. I was living in filth. A nice lady saw that I was being neglected and brought me food for a few days until she realized nobody else was taking care of me. She was hoping to catch the person who treated me so bad. After she knew that she was not going to find the person, she called a nice lady at Willow Creek Sanctuary who picked me up from the nice lady who had been feeding me. Even though I have been treated so poorly I really just want someone to love. I am so gentle that the vet who is sometimes nervous about Shar Pei's (he must have had a bad experience) thought I was a sweet heart. I have been given a bath at the vet's. I was neutered on 8/2/06, had my ears flushed and treated, heartworm tested, treated for fleas, parasites, dosed with Revolution and vaccinated. (BOY I FEEL GOOD NOW.) I currently weigh about 30 pounds. Once I fill out (now that I am being cared for) I will weigh about 60 pounds. I am about 8 to 12 months old (I am a baby). My foster mom said to tell you I am sooooo sooooo sweet and my name KICHI means FORTUNATE....... I really am to have everyone want to help me.. My adoption fee is $250 to help cover all my medical bills and antbiotics. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT ME, MAYBE I'M THE ONE FOR YOU........KICHI 8/2/06

If you need to relinquish a cat or dog

Download our application here.

If an irresponsible pet owner drops an animal at our rescue it will likely be turned over to the local Humane Society. An animal that is just dropped at the shelter runs the risk of being hit by a car, being attacked by wildlife or dying of starvation because it is too terrified to show itself.

Any animal not relinquished by their owner (strays, presumed strays, animals picked up because they are in a dangerous situation such as wondering animals likely to be hit by a car or outside in inclement weather, animals dropped at the shelter that are not immediately turned over to the local Humane Society) is placed on hold for seven days in order for their owner to claim the pet. We post "found" dogs and cats on our site with a date they will be released for adoption. We register all "found" dogs and cats with the local Humane Society in case the owner checks with them (as all owners should). We also watch for "Lost" posters and ads in the local newspaper. If an owner is found the dog or cat is turned over to the local Humane Society for the owner to claim.
