Who We Are

Founded in 2001, Friends of the Bell County Animal Shelter,Inc. has one primary purpose-to reduce the number of homeless, unwanted and uncared for animals in Bell County. Friends of the Shelter members work to achieve this purpose by focusing on three main objectives:
  1. Encourage spaying and neutering
  2. Promote responsible pet ownership
  3. Support the Bell County Animal Shelter.
Since our inception, hundreds dogs and cats have been spayed/neutered thru programs offered at low or no cost. We provide 3rd grade classrooms throughout Bell County with the HSUS publication "Kind News" and provide education about good pet care to other groups of children. We provide $18,000.00 in medical support, equipment, and vet care to the animals housed at the Bell County Animal Shelter. Friends of the Shelter is a non-profit organization dependent on philanthropic support.
