Did You Know?

If you are the owner of an unaltered cat or dog, your animal could be contributing to America's severe pet overpopulation problem. A breeding pair of unaltered cats and their offspring can produce 73,000 kittens in two years! Please join us as responsible pet owners - spay/neuter your animals.

Who We Are

Animal Helpers is an independent, rescue organization dedicated to finding homes for homeless cats and kittens. On a limited basis, stray, abandoned, or owner-give-up cats are kept uncaged in a home setting until adopted. Because of the interaction in a normal home environment, the foster care givers acquire insight into the cats' personalities and temperaments. Matching the cat's personality to the needs and expectations of the prospective owner is of primary concern in any adoption. Cats can be seen at portable adoptions and appointments for visiting the cats in the foster homes can be scheduled.

Adopting a Friend

The rescue cats/kittens are tested for feline leukemia and FIV (feline AIDS), spayed or neutered, dewormed, and vaccinated. In addition, some cats have other medical needs which must be dealt with during their stay with Animal Helpers. The adoption fee of $60, which helps defray these expenses, includes a courtesy vet visit.

Finding compatible homes for our cats and kittens, where they will be lifetime companions, is the primary goal of Animal Helpers. Follow up telephone calls are made to check on adjustments, to address potential problems, and to answer questions. If circumstances cause the adoptive owner to be unable to keep his/her cat, Animal Helpers requests that the cat/kitten be returned to us.

A Word From Janet Neat

Cats deserve our attention and care. If you are thinking of adopting a cat or kitten, realize the new cat will require vet care, food, and shelter. Most cats don't enjoy the company of small children, but with the parents' interaction and supervision a cat or kitten can work in your home.

My goal is for my rescue cats to be appreciated and respected in his or her new home.
