Who We Are
We are a completely volunteer organization dedicated to humane treatment of all animals. We assist the Garden City Animal Shelter with adoptions and basic obedience training of the dogs. We evaluate the dogs at the shelter to make sure they are adoptable dogs and we transfer dogs and some cats to various rescues and to the Denver Dumb Friends in Denver, Co. We transfer an average of 500 dogs per year.
Adopting a friend
All persons adopting a dog or cat from the shelter must pre-pay for a rabies shot of $16.10, pre-pay for a spay/neuter; male dogs - $81.50, female dogs - $101.50, male cats - $61.50, and female cats - $91.50.. There is also a adoption fee of $10.40. All dogs receive at least 1 Parvo/Distemper vaccine and have been wormed. We only list the dogs that are adoptable. We CANNOT ship dogs out of state unless an adopter can meet us when we transfer dogs to the Denver Dumb Friends or when we transfer dogs to various rescues.
Come Visit Us!
The shelter is located 3 blocks south of Main & Fulton streets, and 1 block west on Isabele street. For those who are familiar with Garden City, the shelter is 1 block west of the National Guard Armory. The shelter is open Monday thru Friday from 11am to 12 pm, and from 1 pm to 5 pm. Saturdays the shelter is open from 1pm to 5 pm.
