HELP! We are 5 little kittens that do not have homes. The Humane Society shelter is so full right now that there is no room for us to come in. A nice lady by the name of Pamela is trying to watch over us but we must remain outside, exposed to the weather, traffic and wild animals. She has gotten us our first set of shots. Who We Are:
We are the McPherson County Humane Society and we are located at 201 S. Elm Street in McPherson, Kansas. We are a donor supported organization and receive no state or local funding. We provide food, shelter, medical care and love to lost and unwanted animals until a permanent home can be found.
Often people are interested in how long we keep our animals. The answer is as long as it takes to get them adopted. We will not euthanize healthy, adoptable animals. We are pleased to be a No-Kill shelter. We have found loving homes for all kinds of animals including elderly dogs and cats with physical limitations, as well as animals that have been abused. We investigate countless abuse cases that occur within the city and county.

If you are interested in adopting from us, here is some important information:
Shelter Hours:
Thursday - Friday: 2:00 - 5:00 and Saturday - 1:00 - 5:00. We are also available most evenings by appointment.
Adoption Fees:
All adoptions are $45.00. The adoption fee includes spaying and/or neutering of all animals over five months old. Adoption of an animal under five months of age requires a signed agreement and a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit that is refundable when you bring back proof the animal has been altered. We require a signed contract agreeing to the terms of the adoption. We recommend that cats remain indoors and we recommend a fenced yard for all dogs. The McPherson County Humane Society reserves the right to deny an adoption if it is not in the best interest of the animal.
