Our Shelter was built in 1988: Dedicated in Memory of James R. Dicken, D.V.M. and, Thomas D. Sauerwein D.V.M.The Founders of our shelter were a small group of concerned individuals who had a fund raising drive collecting money from local residents and merchants. We are a 501c3 non profit organization, not a government agency. Nor do we receive any support from United Way, we rely on membership dues, contributions, boarding fees for strays picked up and the adoptions of our animal friends.
Our mission through the promotion of education in basic humane animal care is to relieve animal suffering and to prevent cruelty to animals.
