Pets of the Month

Nika is a very active little puppy who was only 6-7 months old when he came to the shelter on April 2. He is still very much a puppy and needs some basic training to learn some manners, but he is very friendly and very eager to learn. He has lots of energy and loves to play, and he really seems to like the dogs on the other side of the fence. His previous family turned him in with no explanation. Nika goes potty as soon as he gets outside, so hopefully he'll do well with housebreaking.

If you are interested in making Nika a permanent part of your family, please call the shelter at the phone number to the right and give them the ID number from above to find out if he's still available. An adoption application can be downloaded from our website at www.lawrencehumane.org. To adopt Nika, it would be a $35 adoption fee and an additional $60 for his alteration.

Tureen and her brother, Bucket, were brought to the shelter by their owners on September 23 without explanation. Bucket has been adopted, but Tureen is still looking for a home. Tureen loves to play and is well socialized with humans. She has a very amusing meow - soft but long and extended. She only uses it to get your attention and it works because it is so cute! Tureen will make excellent pet for almost any household. She was about 6 to 8 weeks old when she arrived at the shelter, has been spayed, and gets along with other cats.

The adoption fee for cats who were already altered when they arrived at the shelter is $35. For cats who were altered by the shelter after arriving, the adoption fee is $75 to cover the cost of their alteration. An adoption application can be downloaded from our website at www.lawrencehumane.org. All you need to do is print the form, fill it out, and fax it to us at (785) 843-6554. Then you will be well on your way to having a new friend!

Adopting a friend

If you are interested in a specific animal seen on Petfinder, we recommend that you call the shelter at 785-843-6835 to find out if the animal is still available.
