News
You can help prevent unwanted litters, simply by having your pets spayed or neutered!
Important Pet Care Information
Remember, it is always wise to leave your pet at home when you do errands in the hot weather, dogs and cats can perish when left in a heated vehicle. If your dog is kept outdoors, provide a dog house for shelter and clean drinking water at all times.
Who We Are
Ft Riley Vet Clinic also has an adoption center, called the Fort Riley Stray Facility. Many of the animals for adoption have been found on post but not claimed by an owner. Military regulation requires that all found animals be held for 3 business days, after which time they are available for adoption. If not adopted with in 60 days, the animals must be euthanized. Normal business hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays 10:30 - 3:00 for adoptions and viewing of animals. Wednesdays we have extended hours until 4:30.
Adopting a friend
People wishing to adopt an animal from the facility must pay an adoption fee. The adoption fee is $69.00 for cats and $67.00 for dogs, which includes all vaccines, heartworm or leukemia test, deworming, and a microchip. We adopt to all who are interested, although access to Fort Riley is limited at this time. Please help these animals to live long, healthy and happy lives.
