The City of Madison Pound is a small rural-area facility with licensed foster care providers. The Pound is licensed by the Kansas Animal Health Department. License # PS-113-2009. We take in approximately 100 dogs per year. Our mission is to reunite dogs with their owners and find rescue for the ones who remain unclaimed. We also help with shelter transfers and place the pet into foster/rescue to find forever homes. We are not a high kill facility. The Madison Animal Control Officer has education information upon request to help keep you and your pet happy and safe. We promote healthy relationships between pets and people. The city of Madison Animal Control does everything possible to save an animal in need.
Adopting a friend
The animal control officer schedules appointments to see the animals available for adoption. An approved adoption application and a veterinarian reference check is required prior to visiting the foster home caring for the pet you wish to adopt. Please contact us at the email addresses or phone numbers below to request an adoption application and/or adoption appointment.

ANNUAL EVENTS - Madison Kansas
The second weekend in June visit us downtown Madison KS during MADISON DAYS! You can purchase a designer doggie scarf so that your canine companion will be in high style while they watch the parade! And you can sample and purchase gourmet doggie treats as well during Madison Days.
We also host an annual fundraiser in December "Santa Paws Pet Photos". Your pet can get their photo with Santa Claus for a donation to foster caregiver expenses.
