We are Happy Tails Farm a Kansas State Licensed Rescue. We're located in Pittsburg Kansas. There is always a lovely little, cold nosed, tail waggin, bouncin and smilin face here waiting to be adopted. They have plenty of running space, that surrounds our 14 acre home. We operate on appointments for adoption. We are not a walk in and browse any time shelter. However if you just give us a call we would be more than happy to set a time for you to come to see these sweet furkids.We spay/neuter every one. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS!!! We are devoted to finding appropriate forever homes for the lost souls that have found their way to us. We like to teach people the importance of spaying an nuetering their pets. We also believe that no dog should ever be chained. It is within our contract that you are not allowed to chain any animal coming from our facility. Please take a look and see if you are the perfect candidate.
About Our Rescues! We are trying really hard to find perfect homes for our furbabies. We take your interest very seriously! We want you and your new four legged friend to have a happy and healthy life. For this reason when you submit your application. It is not a guarantee that you will be the best fit for a particular rescue. Its not a first come first serve kind of a process. We put a lot of love and care into these animals and need them to have the same life or better that they are being afforded here when they leave with thier new families.

Fosters
We are always needing Foster homes as we can not possibly take everyone that comes our way. If you could even foster one please contact us! We do have a Foster application, and a home evaluation to complete before approval. But that should be a breeze! There is a 10.00 application fee and then you will be licensed to foster under Happy Tails Farm.

We are starting a fund specifically for the testing and treatment of heartworms. The "Change of Heart" Fund will go directly to getting them all tested and treated. It is something that state does not require us to do before an adoption. However It is better that they are tested and treated than to let them go on to homes who may be uneducated about heartworms and it's signs and symptoms. The longer heartworm positive dogs go on untreated the higher the chance of more health problems and death occuring. The rescues come from varying situations and the likely hood of most of them having heartworms is extremely high! Financially this is something most humane societies and rescues can not afford to do with every rescue or stray that comes thier way. It is only usually done if they are knowingly sick or have some sort of symptoms that lead you to getting a varity of tests done before finally finding that it is heartworms.
How will the Change of Heart Fund Work?
All we are asking for is spare change. If you would like to save your spare change for the Change of Heart Fund. We would be happy to send you a container specifically marked for The Change of Heart!
We do not have our 501 c 3 yet so all donations would be of your own free will at the moment. If anyone would like to help us to attain our non profit status we welcome any help to furthering us in that endeavor as well.
