Hound of the Month
BUDDY!
Hey! My name is Buddy. I am a 25 lb beagle/rat terrier cross who is looking for a family to call my own. I am neutered, crate trained, housebroken and a pretty swell guy (if I say so myself). I LOVE attention, and I mean, love, love, love it. LOVE IT!!! I am a snuggly boy who would love to be your number one dog. I live with many dogs in my foster home, so can be in a home with another dog, or I would be fine by myself (as that would mean more attention for me, Yeah!).
I am mixed with a terrier, so when I meet new dogs in public I like to yap at them, my foster mom tells me to knock it off and I do. I have been through basic obedience and know to come back to my name, sit, down, come, and can do all of those things when I feel like it. : )
From his foster mom: Buddy is up-to-date on shots, microchipped, spayed and heartworm negative. Buddy is approximately 3 years old. If you would like to meet him, please fill out an application at www.bassetandbeagle.org or email us at bbrh@bassetandbeagle.org.
We are currently looking for foster homes in the Midwest (Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri). If you are interested, send us an email at www.bassetandbeagle.org or give us a call at 800-332-9416 and we will send you a foster application.
Who We Are
We are pleased to announce the formation of Basset and Beagle Rescue of the Heartland Inc. BBRH is an approved 501(c)3 non-profit rescue group, all donations are tax-deductible. Our organization is devoted to rescuing and re-homing basset hounds, beagles, basset hound mixes, and beagle mixes in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa. BBRH also puts great emphasis on educational efforts regarding these breeds and responsible pet ownership.
The organization was founded by dedicated volunteers who love these breeds and believe in giving something back. BBRH is currently seeking volunteers and foster homes to assist in its educational and rescue efforts. No special skills or experience is required of volunteers - just a big heart, time on one's hands, and a desire to help homeless dogs. If you're interested in being a part of BBRH, we would love to have you join us!
Adopting a friend
All dogs in our rescue have been evaluated on their temperament, are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested and current on all vaccinations prior to being available for adoption. The adoption fee is $150 for adults, $200 for dogs under 1 year of age.
Come Visit Us!
We are not a shelter, we are a group of volunteers who take rescued Basset Hounds and Beagles into our homes and hearts. We will be out and about with some of our animals at events in the near future. We hope you can stop by.
