Hound of the Month
JASPER Meet Jasper, an energetic two-year old basset hound. Jasper and his brother Hamilton were victims of the economy and Jasper is now looking for his permanent home (Hamilton was recently adopted through BBRH). Jasper has been neutered and is current on all other vetting. Jasper needs to bulk up some and has been gradually putting on weight in his foster home. He is crate trained and is almost 100 percent house trained. For being an adolescent dog he is remarkably calm although can be very vocal when he wants something. He enjoys napping on the sofa and sleeping in the big bed at night. He lives with several other dogs right now and does fine. He would do best in a quieter home with kids over the age of 10. And since Jasper fancies himself a ladies man, it would be best if any dog housemates were female. Jasper's adoption fee is a mere $150.00 (no extra charge for the basset kisses).
We are currently looking for foster homes in the Midwest (Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri). If you are interested, send us an email at www.bassetandbeagle.org or give us a call at 800-332-9416 and we will send you a foster application.
Who We Are
We are pleased to announce the formation of Basset and Beagle Rescue of the Heartland Inc. BBRH is an approved 501(c)3 non-profit rescue group, all donations are tax-deductible. Our organization is devoted to rescuing and re-homing basset hounds, beagles, basset hound mixes, and beagle mixes in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa. BBRH also puts great emphasis on educational efforts regarding these breeds and responsible pet ownership.
The organization was founded by dedicated volunteers who love these breeds and believe in giving something back. BBRH is currently seeking volunteers and foster homes to assist in its educational and rescue efforts. No special skills or experience is required of volunteers - just a big heart, time on one's hands, and a desire to help homeless dogs. If you're interested in being a part of BBRH, we would love to have you join us!
Adopting a friend
All dogs in our rescue have been evaluated on their temperament, are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested and current on all vaccinations prior to being available for adoption. The adoption fee is $150 for adults, $200 for dogs under 1 year of age.
Come Visit Us!
We are not a shelter, we are a group of volunteers who take rescued Basset Hounds and Beagles into our homes and hearts. We will be out and about with some of our animals at events in the near future. We hope you can stop by.
