How to Adopt
If you see an animal that you are interested in, please act quickly. We must intake many stray and unwanted pets every week, so therefore we need to adopt out pets quickly in order to have space and keep euthanasia to a minimum.
Please write down the corresponding ID number of the pet you are interested in and have it with you when you call or come to our office. To obtain the ID number click on the pet's name. Please note that we have MANY more dogs and cats than are posted on our web site and new ones come in weekly. Call or visit us for more info on our pets who have not been photographed yet.

The Ray of Hope Program
In 2009 we have partnered with The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, volunteers, no-kill rescues and shelters, and breed rescue groups. The Ray of Hope program has significantly reduced euthanasia in our shelter to just 4% in the first 6 months of 2009, down from 54% in the first 6 months of 2008. Our partnership includes transfers of pets to no-kill groups, spaying and neutering of all of those pets, weekend satellite events, and distributing information on low-cost spaying and neutering to the KCK community.
