Who We Are
The Fort Scott Animal Control Department is a service provided
by the City of Fort Scott, Kansas. The department is staffed by Animal Control Officer Adam Miles, and is dedicated to animal safety and health, public safety, and owner
education. The Animal Shelter is usually open between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm,
Monday through Friday, or Call:...(620) 223-1700 for an appointment.
Adopting a friend
PLEASE NOTE: Out of
state/long distance adoptions are wonderful! However, we do ask that you come to
Fort Scott to meet and/or pick up your pet. Pets are not "shipped" to adopters that
they (and we) have never met. Thank you for your understanding in this
matter.
Dog adoption is $37, with a refund of $30 after completion
of spay/neuter and rabies immunization.
All veterinary procedures are the responsibility of the
adopter, and may be performed at any licensed veterinary clinic.
VOLUNTEERING AND DONATIONS
While the Fort Scott Animal Shelter is
municipally funded, and does not actively solicit donations, contributions are
accepted and will be used to provide those "extras" not provided by the regular
budget. Donations of towels, blankets, treats, rawhide and other toys and chews are
always welcome.
