Silent Angels has turned a page. After almost ten years of operation we are becoming a small dog rescue and cat sanctuary. While we are a bit sad to see the medium- and large-size dogs go, we are looking forward to helping as many of western Kansas' small dogs as we can. We still have a few medium-size dogs left. These dogs are all special-needs dogs in some way. Please look them over and see if one might be just the companion you have been looking for. Some changes have been made in our fee schedule. And we are limiting the number of small dogs received in our shelter to six at one time. We anticipate having some wonderful little dogs to add joy and companionship to your life! In addition, we are no longer receiving cats into the shelter. We are sorry, but the number of cats grew to the point that we have been struggling to keep up with their physical and financial needs. We have at least two dozen highly adoptable adult cats listed here. Happy looking!

Who We Are

Silent Angels is now in our tenth year in operation, and remains a No-Kill shelter. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation and all donations are tax-deductible. All donations go directly to benefit the animals. Food and veterinary care are constant needs, and facility upgrades are ongoing. Adopting a friend

The cat adoption fee is $25, which includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, etc.  We really need to find homes for as many of our "favored felines" as possible. In addition, we will waive the cat adoption fee for senior citizens. You may request an application in advance of your visit, but a completed application is not necessary if you would just like to come and look over the Silent Angels' kitties.

Dog adoption fee is $100. This includes spay/neuter, vet check, and current on all vaccinations and parasite control. There is no adoption fee for dogs age 10 and over. The adoption fee for senior citizens is waived.

Out of state adoptions will require $25.00 extra for both dogs and cats to cover the out-of-state health certificate.

We add more small dogs to our pet list as soon as they become available. Check back often for updates. Remember, when you adopt a pet from a shelter it's like saving two! You're making room for the next one to come in. Our ultimate goal is to find permanent, forever homes for these wonderful animals where they will be cherished and loved for the rest of their lives.

Come Visit Us!

You are welcome to visit our adoptable pets just about any time during normal business hours 11 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday. Drive west from Leoti, Kansas on Hwy 96 ten miles to Road 3 (just east of the Selkirk grain elevator). Then north six miles on Road 3 to Road "J". Then 3/4 mile east on Road "J". You may also visit at other times by calling to schedule an appointment.
