Before an animal may be adopted, an adoption application must be filled out 24 hours in advance, and the applicant must sign a written statement agreeing to have the animal surgically spayed or neutered by a licensed veterinarian within the time period stated on the Adoption Agreement Form as required by K.S.A 47-1731.

We do adopt to out-of-staters, but it is the sole responsibility of the adopters to find transportation for the adopted pet.

What does URGENT mean on petfinder listings?

Unfortunately, it means the animal's life is in direct dangers. They have been here for an extended period of time, and we have more animals in the back needing their opportunity to find a home. If there is anyway you would be interested in an URGENT animal, contact the shelter as soon as possible!
If you are interested in adopting through us, here are some helpful links you will need to complete the adoption process
